yet another band from canada (calgary, anyone?), woodpigeon have released 2 albums and a number of eps while touring with the likes of broken social scene, iron & wine and grizzly bear. their third album is scheduled for january 2010 and band leader mark hamilton has described it as "simultaneously a lot bigger, and a lot smaller. there’s definitely some big surprises on it". check out their cover of the magnetic fields' 'you're my only home'. it's got a real nostalgic feel to it without being overly daunting. sunday after all.
